Friends of Edward Carpenter are delighted to be part of Yuen Fong Ling’s exhibition at Sheffield’s Persistence Works gallery. The exhibition contains Towards Memorial (2019) a film in three chapters documenting the making, gifting and wearing of the Carpenter sandals. Made by local firm Nobel & Wylie, the sandals are based upon remnants of Edward Carpenter’s prototype paper patterns from Sheffield City Archives.
